The UN envoy to Yemen, Ismael Ould Cheikh Ahmed, said that what is happening in Sana’a, daily violations against civilians, is against all customs and should not be tolerated.

Ould Sheikh Ahmed pointed out that the reports from Sanaa about the suppression of a peaceful women’s demonstration, arrests of journalists and members of the Congress Party are contrary to international public law and human rights.

Yemen’s human rights minister, Mohammad Askar, said the al-Huthi militia had executed more than 1,000 leaders of the General People’s Congress and military and civilian leaders loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh over the past four days.

He pointed out in a statement, quoted by the official Yemeni news agency, that hundreds of injured were kidnapped from hospitals and their fate is still unknown so far, indicating that the Huthi militias suppressed the protests and the arrest and insult of women.

قال المبعوث الأممي إلى اليمن، إسماعيل ولد الشيخ أحمد، إن ما يحدث في صنعاء، من انتهاكات يومية بحق المدنيين ينافي كل الأعراف ولا يجب السكوت عنه.

وأشار ولد الشيخ أحمد إلى أن التقارير الواردة من صنعاء عن قمع لمظاهرة نسائية سلمية، واعتقالات للصحافيين وأعضاء من حزب المؤتمر تتنافى مع القانون الدولي العام وحقوق الإنسان.

وكان وزير حقوق الإنسان اليمني، محمد عسكر، قال إن ميليشيا الحوثي الانقلابية أعدمت أكثر من 1000 قيادي في حزب المؤتمر الشعبي العام وقيادات عسكرية ومدنية موالين للرئيس السابق علي عبدالله صالح خلال 4 أيام ماضية تلت اغتيالها له.

وأشار في تصريح، نقلته وكالة الأنباء اليمنية الرسمية، إلى أن مئات المصابين تم اختطافهم من المستشفيات ولا يزال مصيرهم مجهولاً حتى الآن، مبيناً أن الميليشيات الحوثية قامت بقمع المظاهرات الاحتجاجية واعتقال وإهانة النساء.
