After a routine speech that the French President Emmanuel Macron began in the company of his African counterpart during his Burkina Faso trip, he ended his speech on a humorous tone.

However, the joke may not have gone well with the Burkinabe President Roch Marc Christian Kabore, who exited the hall. The incident took place before a gathering of students at the University of Ouagadougou.

The students asked the French President to help provide them with electricity, but the French president replied that this is not part of his duties, but that of their President.

“I do not want to pay attention to the problem of electricity, this is what the president should be doing …he is leaving … stay here, he has left to fix the air conditioning system,” Macron playfully said.

President  Kabore and his visiting French counterpart  Macron were to inaugurate a 33MW solar power plant in Zagtouli, located on the outskirts of the capital Ouagadougou.
