Kingdom participates in Brussels Conference to face COVID-19

ALJZEERA Press -SPA — As the holder of the G20 Presidency, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia co-led the Coronavirus Global Response conference which was held today to finance the development of a vaccine, treatment and diagnostic tools to be accessible to all with an affordable cost.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pledged earlier $500 million to support such global efforts.
The European Commission announced in Brussels that the conference, in which the European Union, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Norway participated, raised € 7.4 billion, equivalent to $ 8 billion, in the form of pledges from donors throughout the world.
The donation event was co-organized by the European Union, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, (G20), Japan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (which holds the G20 presidency), Norway, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
